Resumo:
Os estudos do género conjugado no feminino no contexto indiano e nas comunidades transnacionais da diáspora revelavam a impureza temporária das mulheres durante o período do ciclo menstrual e sua função no lugar da patrilinhagem que ocupavam; revelam nos estudos mais recentes o papel mais activo da mulher hindu sobretudo no contexto mágico-religioso que tanta influência tem no domínio do quotidiano, fazendo com que a versão clássica de religião que assenta na separação das águas entre o domínio do sagrado e do profano não seja aplicável ao contexto etnográfico hindu. Posto isto, Rosa Perez convida-nos à leitura de Madeleine Biardeu [1981] e a avançar para um outro nível de conceptualização do feminino, em particular, o domínio da Deusa (1994: 107). Esta figura do panteão hindu, com a qual as mulheres são associadas, é marcada pela sua ambivalência. Se, enquanto entidade solitária é potencialmente destrutiva, quando integrada num casal, torna-se fecundante, equilibrada, garante da perpetuação da família e da sociedade em geral. Assim sendo, este artigo propõe-se a fazer uma recensão das principais contribuições dos estudos de género em contexto etnográfico hindu.

Abstract:
The gender studies of Hindu women in the Indian context and transnational diaspora communities revealed the temporary impurity of women during the period of the menstrual cycle and its function in place of patrilineages they occupied; now reveal the most active part of the Hindu woman especially in the magical-religious context that has so much influence in everyday domain, making the classic version of religion that is based on the separation of waters between the sacred and the profane domain, not applicable to the Hindu ethnographic context. That said, Rosa Perez invites us to read Madeleine Biardeu [1981] and moving to another level of female conceptualization, in particular, the domain of the Goddess (1994: 107). This figure of the Hindu pan-theon, with which women are associated, is marked by ambivalence. If, while solitary
entity is potentially destructive, as part of a couple, it becomes fertile, balanced, ensures the perpetuation of family and society in general. Therefore, this article proposes to make a critical review of the main contributions of gender studies in Hindu ethnographic context.
