Encontra-se aberta a submissão de artigos para a para a edição de 2014 da Daxiyangguo - Revista Portuguesa de Estudos Asiáticos. Publicada desde 2002, é uma revista científica revista por pares e distribuída globalmente. Trata os Estudos Asiáticos numa perspetiva multidisciplinar no âmbito das Ciências Sociais, abrangendo campos como a Antropologia, as Relações Internacionais, a Ciência Política, Estudos de Identidade e Cultura, entre outros.

Full / Associate / Assistant Professor of History of East-West Interactions

Rank of appointment is open, depending on qualifications. Applicants should specialize in the history of East-West exchanges and cultural interactions in the following contexts: the history of material and/or cultural exchanges between the East and the West, focusing on the flow of art, artefacts, goods, beliefs, knowledge, etc., during the Age of Sail, mainly via Macao. The successful candidate will be required to teach General Education courses in Global History. Preference may be given to candidates who can offer courses on Macao’s cultural interactions with the West and neighbouring states and regions of China.

Full / Associate / Assistant Professor of Maritime History

Rank of appointment is open, depending on qualifications. Applicants should specialize in the Spanish Empire during the Age of Sail, with a focus on relationships between East and West, ideally including but not limited to diplomatic history and missionary history as well as cultural, social and economic exchanges. The successful candidate will be required to teach General Education courses in Global History. Preference may be given to candidates with excellent command of Spanish and/or other European languages and who are willing to teach courses in European history.
